I guess I'm out of touch with the world of children's literature, or my tastes are something strange and unusual, because none of my favourite books from last year - Un Lun Dun (China MiƩville), Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (J K Rowling) and Evolution, Me & Other Freaks of Nature (Robin Brande) - even made the short lists. Oh, well....
