ALVIN CULLUM YORK

Corporal, US Army; Company G, 328th Infantry, 82d Division

Born: 13 December 1887, Fentress County, Tenn.

Hey Jim is this the same York that the old B&W movie starring Gary Cooper was based on? Have you ever read his autobiography. It's fun reading. You can find it at Vision Forum. BTW Hello to you!

And hullo to you, too! Long time no see....

Yes, the movie Sergeant York, with Gary Cooper in the title role, was based on this man's life. I have a vague feeling that I may have seen it once, long ago, but I'm not sure.
